I always say that when it rains, it pours - and this is never truer than when messing with computers. I finally got the drivers they sent me through e-mail onto the XP box and it detected the modem and everything looks hunky-dory... except that it ain't. I have no clue as to why it doesn't work, I just know that it doesn't. This was the final straw for that stupid thing. I'm taking it back tomorrow, which sucks bnecause I just got back from the same store a few minutes ago. I just love to buy gas.
Anyway, The Wording was hacked and I knew it had been. It was just a matter of convincing my host, which I did by letting them open the e-mail which contained the comment which destroyed my blog. Sure enough, it booted them right out of the system and they are pissed! Not at me, mind you - at whomever sent the offending comment. They're looking into the matter and I hope they find out who did it and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.
Of course, I'm not holding my breath.
I managed to retrieve most all of the posts through Google cache but it's definitely taken its toll on me. I haven't been able to do anything but screw with it for the past two days and nights. Not to mention this sub-par modem I was forced to buy because it's the only one they carry for like 30 miles in any direction...
Anyway, I need a real computer, so maybe this is what it took to kick my butt into gear and actually start scrimping and saving enough to get one. Technically, I have the money to do so, I just can't afford it... if that makes sense.
I know it sounds like I've a million excuses for not being busier, but it's the God's honest truth that when it rains around here, it pours.
