Hey guys, I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that, if you are experiencing a lot of broken links, it is because of Blogger. Blogger likes to insert a bunch of random characters and spaces in URLs when you use the link feature. Even if you hard-code the links in HTML, Blogger tends to add these characters! The only work-around I've figured out so far is to completely finish the post, swap-out to Edit HTML, hand-code the links you want, and immediately publish them from there.
Plus, my connection has been extremely slow lately. I'm not sure if that's on my end or the Internet is just broken, but surfing has been intermittently... just terrible! I still have more news and stuff to get out to you, it's just been kind of touch-and-go these last few days. Hell, it took me nearly half an hour to get a post up Saturday! It kept saying it could not connect to Blogger. Same thing happened earlier this afternoon. I finally managed to get both posts out, but not without some real work.
I have a book from the library I need to finish, seeing as how I've already renewed it once and it's due next week, but then I also want to drag out my run of Walking Dead. I have been getting them for months now and haven't read the first one... I do that sometimes. I've been getting Smithsonian off and on for years now and I don't read them for months on end, then I get them all, curl up on the couch, and read them cover-to-cover in one day. I do the same with Writer's Digest.
Actually, I haven't read any of the comics I got in the last shipment. Just haven't had the time or felt like it. But, like I said, being without cable is a good incentive to read. Speaking of which - you'll love this:
I called the cable company and explained my situation. They said I was only $25.00 behind and I said I'd pay it by Wednesday (I'm hoping like hell the check doesn't go through until Friday when I do - I mean, the way I figure it, it will have to be deposited, then go through their bank, so Friday should be the earliest it goes through... right?), so chicky says that's fine but they can't turn the services back on until they receive a payment. No problem.
THEN, she starts telling me about a promotion that's "only $10 more a month" and asks if I'd be interested! I was like, "Um, I'm $30 behind, so I think I'd better hold-off for now. Thanks." And she got all sullen like I'd just gotten rude with her! She didn't get snappy or snotty or anything, just kind of like, "Oh, well... okay, I guess... but..."
The older I get, the less I understand why people can't seem to comprehend why I am often moody and angry. I mean, it's like, "Well, I can see you have no car, but if you act now, I can sell you all this gasoline for only $1.00 a gallon! What? No car? But it's only $1.00 a gallon! What do you mean 'no car'? It's only $1.00!"
