Scud: The Disposable Assassin Concludes!

I am not familiar with the comic book, Scud: The Disposable Assassin, but this official Image press release tells about its conclusion. A lot of comics titles nowadays are working in "arcs" and shorter runs instead of the once-popular ongoing format. To be sure, there are still plenty of those to be found, but increasingly, titles are having shorter runs. Win 98 does not like file attachments from Image; the embedded pictures work just fine, but attachments give me a bunch of errors. They also give errors when I upload them to Blogger, so I'm not sure it's just my system. Sorry I couldn't bring you the images.

November 20th, 2007 (Berkeley, CA) - After a decade of anticipation, Rob Schrab and Image Comics finally release SCUD: THE DISPOSABLE ASSASSIN #21, the beginning of the four-issue finale for his ever-popular death dealing robot.

"Even after all this time it's hard to say goodbye," writer/artist Rob Schrab said. "I was working on a thirty-two page conclusion to include in a collection of all the previous material, but it grew to well over a hundred pages. Image and I agreed this warranted its own release and it's for the better. The ending is now an entirely different beast, one I couldn't be any prouder about [sic]."

While February will mark ten years to the month since Schrab produced SCUD: THE DISPOSABLE ASSASSIN #20, he has remained busy in Hollywood, directing such hits as MONSTER HOUSE and THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM. His comics connection continues with SILVERMAN, as he works alongside other Image creators such as LAST CHRISTMAS' Brian Posehn and GRRL SCOUTS' Jim Mahfood. Mahfood will also supply the cover to issue #22, with other cover artists including Ashley Wood, Doug Tennapel and David Hartman.

SCUD: THE DISPOSABLE ASSASSIN #21 (DEC072049), a four-issue black & white miniseries for $3.50, will be available in stores February 13th.
