Famous blues musician, Ike Turner, was a critical darling even though drugs and allegations of spousal abuse haunted his life and career. Now, a doctor says that drugs led to his death.
A coroner has reported that Ike Turner died last month from an overdose of cocaine.
Turner was once married to music phenomenon, Tina Turner, who later alleged that Ike beat her while they were together. Ike said he "punched [his] wife, but never beat her." Yeah. Ike Turner, legend.
Turner openly admitted to cocaine abuse and claimed that was the source of his problems. He was sentenced to prison for 18 months in the early 1990s and missed his own induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. He was 76 years old at the time of his death.
Once, when a policeman was escorting one of Ike's beaten women out of his house, he asked him, "Well, what are you going to tell a woman with two black eyes, Mr. Turner?"
Without missing a beat, Ike replied, "Nuthin! I done told the bitch twice! NOW GET OUT MY HOUSE!"
