Kevin Smith's Foray Into Father and Son Sci-Fi

Kevin Smith told The Guardian his next project will be his biggest - and the farthest removed from his previous territory.

An actual movie, movie (read: a film with a budget), Smith said he has written a script for a space opera focusing on a father and son relationship. While casting has not started, the project apparently has the greenlight, as Smith told the paper the budget would be between $40 and $50 million - by far the largest budget the Clerks director has ever had to work with!

But before the untitled project even begins comes Red State, his first horror movie.
