Stephen King's It Coming to the Silver Screen

Stephen King's best-selling horror novel about a group of kids menaced by a daemonic clown named Pennywise has been optioned by Warner Bros. and is set for the silver screen treatment. It is an epic novel and easily one of King's better works, but it also one of the few that never got the full-length feature treatment. ABC made a mini-series of It, starring John Ritter and Tim Curry (as Pennywise), which went on to achieve mild cult status and replays every so often on the Sci-Fi Channel, but no full-length film has been done to now.

Warner Bros. has already chosen a screenwriter: Dave Kajganich. Kajganich has made a name for himself with dark matter with The Invasion. He also scored another Stephen King title - the Pet Semetary remake. It has no director or stars attached, nor a release date as yet.
