The Real Ghostbusters was the Saturday morning cartoon adaptation of the classic, hit comedy from 1984. The show was very popular, and had a run of seven seasons according to IMdB. Several episodes have appeared on YouTube over the years, but they've been removed. It was not until recently that I discovered you can watch them free on Crackle.

Crackle has over 20 episode of The Real Ghostbusters available for streaming free without an account or login. I do not know if the content is rotated or not, but it has been available for a while now, so you may want to check it out before it's gone. Crackle also has another animated show called Extreme Ghostbusters, featuring the characters from the franchise. I have not watched this newer reboot of the series.

The Ghostbusters franchise recently hit a snag with an all-female reboot that wreaked havoc online and bombed at the box office, but the animated TV series was significantly different from its source material. The most memorable difference was Slimer, who became a talking lead and team mascot. While Slimer mostly provided comedic relief, he proved an indispensable Ghostbuster on more than one occasion.
