This is just shocking.
WWE superstar, Chris Benoit, has been found dead. Police near Atlanta said it appears that the professional wrestler first killed his wife and child sometime over the weekend, then took his own life sometime today. Benoit was scheduled to appear at a WWE event yesterday but his match was canceled for personal reasons.
This literally just happened earlier and was reported late tonight, so details are still sketchy, but we are going to keep our eye on this one. I haven't watched wrestling in years and was never a super-fan or anything (well, not since I was about 10, anyway) and only got back into it a few years ago because everyone used to come to the bar where I worked to watch it. Benoit, like many wrestlers, came and went, but was always a crowd favorite and had a good run of things in recent years. He was the champion for some time not so long ago.
Our condolences go out to Benoit's family, friends, and everyone in the wrestling world.
