Important Safety Alert!

I noticed the other day that I'd received a bounced e-mail warning from postmaster@aol.com, saying that it had detected the MyDoom virus in an attachment or e-mail I had sent. Since I haven't sent any e-mails to anyone lately, much less anyone on AOL, I did not open the attachment. I assumed it was just spam and most likely someone trying to infect my computer somehow.

Today, I received another bounced e-mail from another postmaster at a different domain. This one did not have anything about viruses on it, but it did have attachments. Last night, I ran a comprehensive antivirus check which took over 2 hours to complete and only found some tracking cookies. HOWEVER, there still remains the possibility that my computer has been infected and/or I have picked up a mailer daemon somewhere.

If you receive any e-mails from "manodogs@"anything, please just delete it. In specific, do NOT click on any links in the text or download any attachments!

I'm working on trying to find out if these bounced messages with attachments are just a clever ruse to get me to open the files or if they are legitimate bounced e-mails sent from one or more of my accounts. In the meantime, just be warned.

Also, if YOU should receive any similar e-mails, please Comment and let us know. This is how big-time infections break out and if that's what's going on, it would serve everyone to be aware of the modus operandi.

Thanks!
