The Sarah Connors Chronicles, a TV series based on the Terminator movie series, is set to premiere in January on FOX. They had already filmed scenes where one of the stars, a young John Conners (Sarah’s son and one day the future of mankind), is attacked at school.
One of the executive producers felt this scene was crucial to the series, since school is one of the few places parents have to cede control of their children to someone else. But this same producer was the first to ask to change the school scenes in the wake of the Virginia Tech attacks last April.
But he also stressed that these decisions “...are answered on an ad hoc basis, not on a broad one, and we need to respect our audience.”
