That's right: I am blogging to you from the very comfortable depths of my plush couch! How cool is this? I am propped-up by tons of plump cushions, swimming in a sea of soft pillows, blithely watching Psych as I randomly prattle-on about nothing at all.
Of course, I had to get up and plug the cable modem directly into this box because I still haven't been able to get the computers to see each other on the network. In fact, I haven't even figured out how to set-up a network through Vista! It doesn't have the option for setting up a simple home network; it's all dial-in VPNs and Internet connections, etc., but no simple home network. I'm hoping I just have yet to find it, but I have searched everywhere I can think of - everywhere logical, anyway... you know, places like, "SET UP HOME NETWORK" and "NETWORKING OPTIONS" - things like that, obscure labels.
Anyway, the only real problem (aside from the fact that I am forced to use the cheap keyboard - don't ask) is that this is the 98 box, but I'm not bringing the new one over here - I'm far too comfortable; I would never, ever get offline. Of course, it's not like I do anyway, but still.
I really don't know that I believe one can become addicted to the Internet, but if I had a laptop with speech recognition? Or one of those Crackberries? Let's just say I'd be vying for the room next to Britney's.
Okay, this is far too much fun. I have to disconnect and get back on the desk. I can totally see me sitting here, rambling on all night for no other reason than that I can; this is way too comfortable to be healthy. Like oral sex.
