What was to be the final installment in the seemingly never-ending string of Harry Potter movies, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has been cut in-twain by the production company, looking to squeeze a few hundred-million more out of the franchise.
The last in the series about a young wizard, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sold nearly 12 million copies within 24 hours of its release. Set to be the last film in the franchise, Warner Brothers announced this morning that they would split it into two movies - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I and II. Both will be directed by David Yates, who is also directing the sixth in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and will be released six months apart, in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
In 2009, Harry Potter will be approximately 43 years old.
Industry rumor has it that a new Harry Potter script is being shopped entitled Harry Potter and the Bitter Divorce, to be followed by Harry Potter and the 20-Something Stripper Girlfriend, culminating in what is to be the absolute final film installment, Harry Potter and the Coke-Fueled Drinking Binge.
On a lighter note, The Weirding would like to welcome new sponsor, Warner Bros. Store, to the fold! (Seriously!)
