Agenda

Yes, things have been slow compared to our usual machinegun-rapid rate, but you're still getting several things a day, so it's all good.

I just wanted to drop by and let you know that I am working my little fingers to the bone, I just have so much to do that even I get frustrated from time to time; no matter how much I work, no matter how much I get done, you can rarely see the results unless you know what to look for. So much of what I am doing seems so miniscule, but has to be done - and a lot of it takes as long, or longer, to finish as writing a full post.

Not to mention that it's been slow the past few weeks. Britney and the other Bad Grrlz have been uncharacteristically quiet, but I'm no longer covering them as much as I was, anyway... I think they're on about Minute 14 1/2; most of the PRs I've been getting are about how this comic or that one sold-out and are going back to press; and while there have been a handful of stories you might be interested in, they were all so short that none of them warranted an entire post, and there weren't enough of them for a Rundown.

So I've been spending a lot of time on the technical aspects and finishing-up the redesign. There's actually enough of it to start releasing, but like I said, I'm going to learn from my past mistakes at least this once and wait until basically all of it is ready to go before I start publishing, and that's going to be another week or two, depending. I still have to file my taxes (turns out every, single, one of the sponsors I worked for in 2006-07 should have sent me a 1099, and only three of them did - none of them did for 2006 - and I had to go back through and total everything myself!) so that's a major offline project I have had to work on, in addition to all of this. Especially since I didn't know I had to file for 2006 because no one sent me 1099s and I didn't realize I'd made as much as I did (but it's okay, because I expect a refund, so I shouldn't be penalized - at least that's what someone at the IRS told me).

What I may do is release a bunch of the new content first and point y'all to it for a week or two before the site itself gets a facelift. I don't know; still haven't figured all of that out, yet. It's kind of a catch-22, because I don't want to make the site look all sparkly-spanking new and have it go nowhere, but I want people to be able to find the new content once I publish it, so I have to decide on a course of action and that will pretty much be dictated by what I finish first; I just don't want it to be the middle of May before it all rolls-out and I can't work on two things at once. Still, I'm pleased to report that it's all coming together nicely, thanks to these slow news days.

Anyway, we'll be cranking it out to you throughout the day today, as usual. So sit back, relax, and don't forget we've got two years' and 2000+ posts' worth of content in the archives, so there's plenty to keep you entertained in the meanwhile.
