That's what Gene Simmons wants to know, and what he asked the audience of a speech he gave at the Billboard Touring Conference yesterday. Though their first gold record was in 1974, fulfilling the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame's only criterion, Kiss has yet to be inducted.
"There are disco bands, rap bands, Yiddish folk song bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - but not Kiss," Simmons said. "We have more gold records in America than any other group, but it's OK."
The 2009 possible inductees Metallica, Run-DMC, Chico, and Jeff Beck (among others). The five inductees for 2009 will be announced in January and the ceremonies will be held April 4th. More than 500 industry voters decide who will be inducted each year.
