Lost Boys and 80's Child Star, Corey Haim, Dead

Yes, Corey Haim has died from an apparent drug overdose. According to sources, he had been ill for several days, suffering from "flu-like" symptoms. The actor was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning and pronounced dead sometime between 2:15 and 3:00a, PST. An autopsy will be performed, but combination drug overdose is suspected. Corey Haim was 38-years old.

Haim first began performing in 1984 and starred alongside such actors as Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert Downey, Jr., Charlie Sheen, Heather Graham, and Kiefer Sutherland. But he was best known for starring alongside IRL best friend, Corey Feldman in such movies as Lost Boys and Dream a Little Dream. The comedic team became known as "The Coreys" and even attempted a comeback together in 2007 with a short-lived reality show on A&E entitled, appropriately enough, The Two Coreys.

Though he worked steadily throughout the 1980s and much of the '90s, Haim's career stalled due to drug use, about which he had recently spoken openly in interviews. Haim had recently worked on several movies which have yet to be released.

* I don't know what's up with the Commenting on this post. It was expanded around 11:30am, CST, so someone may have been trying to comment when the new version was published. There has also been a run on it, getting well over 100 hits in under five minutes, so Blogger may have disabled them for fear of spam. If you'd like to leave a comment, we'd love to hear it, so try back later. Sorry!

** Yes, due to the traffic spike, good ol' Google flagged it as "spam." Because Google is sooo good at spotting spam.
