31 Days of Horror Canceled

Well, at least I got it done last year (and kind of the year before). Actually I had a medical emergency earlier this month and wound up in the hospital for several days longer than I expected. I needed the stay - I'd been taking medications prescribed by no fewer than three different specialists and it all needed to be straightened-out (then I had to be held for "observation" for a few days to see how I reacted and all that) - but it put me off my schedule completely, not to mention all the stuff I got behind on while away, including just general household chores.

I also started seeing a yet another medical specialist who prescribed me a bevy of medications to be taken together but the pharmacy refuses to fill them all at the same time. It's been a real mess trying to get the whole thing situated and it's still not there yet. None of this was even addressed at the hospital because it was so new.

I've been spending a whole lot of time in World of Warcraft as well. I'm working on our guild as well as the Hallow's End questlines. I really want the title and/or mount that comes with that and have been busting my toon ass to get it.

Anyway, I still have a handful of horror movie reviews for you and am still watching horror flicks. I grew up on the mad slashers of the 1980s and was a real gorehound. I've outgrown that though and am not as big a fan of the genre as I once was. Part of the problem is that most contemporary horror movies are simply not that good. They tend to fall into one of two camps: Torture-porn and PG13 "frightfests" and I'm not interested in either one. Still, there are dozens - nay, hundreds - of horror flicks from the '70s to the present that I've yet to see, I'm just not as into them as I used to be so I'm not all that motivated.

So we'll just get back to business as usual with a few more Halloween-related posts along the way.
