So, after waiting 2-3 days for the first set of nameservers to propagate, then waiting an additional 2-3 days for the next set of nameservers to propagate, our new domain crapped-out.
I've re-added what I think are the right nameservers, so we'll see how it does. It's going to take me a few days to get the e-mail accounts setup too, so I've removed the forwarding domain name for now.
