Alrighty then... I got like 10 more CDs ripped and worked on the blog all day long behind the scenes, doing a whole buttload of general technical stuff that I have been putting-off for months now.
I realize a lot of the posts lately have been me griping about why I couldn't do more, but let's face it: when you can no longer access everything you've been working on for the past several years and you have to work on an operating system that's 10 years old and no longer supported, waiting up to 2 minutes for each page to load (when they would - otherwise, it's up to 5 minutes of "Try Again" and Reload), you just can't accomplish much. That's honestly why I have been talking about what I've been doing behind the scenes so much: it was taking entire days to do what I should have been able to accomplish in one.
In case you didn't notice, I did get the other blogs on their own sub-domains. And I pruned the directories list - turns out several of the directories had decided to remove our little pixel park from their listings for no discernible reason, and without notice, to boot! Then I moved some of the elements around and stuff. I did a little work on some of the others too, but Blogger's FTP was screwing-up again today, so I didn't get too far on them. That's the next behind-the-scenes project I am tackling, and I'll have more on that at a later date.
Now I have to find a font manager because I installed every font I have (that I know of, so far), which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 11,000 fonts! But I got almost all of my music on here, so the writers' strike isn't keeping me down any longer (even though it's certainly making it harder to find shit to talk about!). I also have a reawakened verve for The Sims, but that doesn't do much for making things livelier around here...
Anyway, with the Goober - er, Google - fiasco behind us, a working computer, and the majority of the configuration out of the way, we are well on our way to getting back to normal here to The Rundown.
Now I just have to get all the files for the site off the other two machines, somehow...
