Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

Yes, things are slow. I expected the inspection to take place earlier this morning and I was, of course, woken up around 7:00 - almost right on the dot, actually - by the downstairs neighbor who insists on yelling up the stairs to get peoples' attention because, obviously, she can't be bothered to walk up there like an adult and knock on the door. Or use a telephone. Or just STFU and leave people on the upstairs level the heck alone.

And I failed the inspection.

Actually, I literally forgot to clean under the stove (lift the top panel and clean under it - not the floor beneath it), and then she told me I could remove the fan panel and soak it because the grease build-up is a fire hazard. I had never even looked up there - which was evidenced by the fact that the next thing she pointed-out to me was the cobwebs there that needed to be cleaned... and then there's the bedroom, which is literally filled with clothes and empty boxes. But I knew that.

The woman who does the inspections is very pleasant and congenial - she isn't condescending or anything - and excessively cute, so I don't mind. I really expected to fail based solely on the bedroom, but I had no idea about the stove thing.

Ah well, she gave me to Tuesday to get it all together, and I should be able to do that.

Anyway, tons o' press releases from the last two days to get to - and I will, throughout tonight and tomorrow - but I am still under the weather. I just haven't gotten any real sleep since the whole parking space incident the other day; an hour or two here and there just doesn't do it. And the fact that I should be able to simply plug these stupid computers into the hub and set forth, but have yet to accomplish such and have spent far too much time on it, is truly wearing on me.

Along with my income tax, the pain in my neck, the possibility of moving, the website I haven't been able to work on since December, whether or not I am going to have company this weekend, where to find a power cord that fits my laptop, the fact that my neighbors will be partying all weekend so I can look forward to no sleep until around Tuesday (thanks to Presidents' Day)...

You name it, it's weighing on my shoulders.

I'm going to give this network thing one last go here, when I plug both computers directly into the modem - one through the ethernet and the other through USB - and if that doesn't work, I am just going to crawl into bed, wrap the comforter around me tightly, and... you know, basically pray for death.

Oh, and if you're wondering where one of the posts went, it wasn't supposed to be published; it was supposed to be saved to draft and I accidentally published it (I didn't even realize I had until the next day). I never finished it - got halfway through and realized I'd forgotten some key lines, and once I added them, it didn't make much sense, so I had to rewrite and got tired of it and meant to draft it, but apparently published it - so I removed it. I may get back to it one of these days, but I don't know. I have tons of drafts on here that are really good, but I have never finished them. That one started out very good, but I got distracted and then confused and lost the momentum and screwed it all up...

Just not feeling well lately, but hopefully, this will be a good weekend. The nice weather has really helped my neck and it's supposed to last throughout the weekend, so let's keep our fingers crossed.
