It's true: a UN panel will convene on March 17th at 7pm in New York to discuss Battlestar Galactica's handling of such issues as war, faith, and morality. The event will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, a BSG fan, and is by invitation only. It occurs just three days before Battlestar Galactica's finale airs on Sci-Fi.
Aside from The View's gossipy hostess, the event includes executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, along with stars Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos. UN representatives include Radhika Coomaraswamy and Craig Mokhiber.
A representative from Sci-Fi told The Chicago Tribune (which has impressive, and exhaustive, coverage of Battlestar Galactica) the panel was being recorded and a transcript made and fans would be made aware when the materials were available.
