An inebriated Rip Torn (The Larry Sanders Show, Men in Black) was discovered in the Salisbury, CT branch of Litchfield Bancorp Friday night. He was carrying a loaded gun. Torn was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of a firearm without a permit. He is being held on $100k bond and set to appear in court this Monday.
Torn may still be on probation stemming from a 2008 DUI arrest. He also has two more DUIs on his record, both from New York. Rip Torn is 78.

Appearing in court this morning, Torn was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, burglary, carrying a gun while intoxicated and without a permit (which had expired in 2007). His case was kicked-up to another court due to the gravity of the charges and his case was continued to Feb. 17.
Rip Torn ordered no plea and is entering a NY-based alcohol treatment/rehab facility sometime this week.
Police say he was "incoherent" and had placed his boots and hat by the front door of the bank, which he'd entered by breaking a window. He did not brandish the gun when approached by police and continually asked why they were removing him from his home.
