Twilight Director Reunites with Summit

Some might have thought Catherine Hardwicke would never return to Summit Entertainment, after being pulled from the Twilight series (even though the movie made a truckload of cash), but it appears Hardwicke and Summit have made-up. Summit has hired Hardwicke to helm the fantasy-drama, If I Stay.

The movie is about a pianist and her rock star boyfriend who is forced to choose between life and death following a car accident. The film is based on the children's book by the same name by author, Gayle Forman. And, get this, the book hasn't even been released yet! It's not due out until this spring! But foreign book rights have already sold in 18 countries.

A spokesperson for Summit said Hardwicke was the "clear" choice for directors because only she "...capture the emotion, grace and passion of this beautiful book." The Rundown believes it has to do with how quickly she turned around Twilight, but who's keeping score?
